Now living and working in GTA, and in couple of years I will retire, so looking for a place.
Retirement $$$$ is small comparing to what me plus my wife have now.
Very hard to have for good quality food, car insurance, life insurance, gasoline, oil change, property tax, utilities, ...
The plan is to go Fishing and Hunting with my Bow.

Manitoulin Island offers excellent/healthy water and Fishing, Hunting is good too, so this can easy on my budget a lot.

What you guys think about living on Manitoulin Island? Any better place in Ontario?

Thanks

Just a bit too open ended to jump in here.
Good luck, and enjoy retirement.

They say fishing and hunting are good on the Island but it is all private land so guess what? If you don't have land or connections you don't have a place to hunt.

Did you ever consider Hwy 17 from Mattawa to almost the the Sault. Lots of Crown Land, bush roads and lakes. Real Estate should not be too bad either and not too far from Sudbury and North Bay. I live in North Bay and love it here. Fishing and hunting on my door step
