All dogs will do what your dog is doing when given the chance. Most owners don't even see it happen, most times it is puppies and some grow out of it others develop a desire. Many articles written but the truth is no one really knows why. Our dogs prefer the frozen poop pops over the steamers. So gross the first time I caught him, I couldn't look at him the same for a long time. You can try a different diet, if it's not completely digesting all its food they will recycle it again. Otherwise clean up and dispose of before it cools down. If it's eating it's own it will eat others and look out when it finds a cow pie or horse buns. mmm mmm good. I might add that it was only my labs that did it.We switched our dutch sheppard off of kibble and on a raw food diet. Night and day although it's only been a couple of months now. Good luck and no kisses, unless it's someone you don't like HAHA

I have a 15 year old Shepard/huskie cross that does that, but only when they're frozen in winter. Won't go near them in summer though. All we can do is scoop and toss in the bush before he gets to them

You might want to ask your vet about that, for he might be missing something in his diet.
My Springer used to eat dirt like it was chocolate until my vet did a blood test. Found out he had a vitamin deficiency that was controlled by giving him better quality dry dog food.

My Springer only likes cat sh1t . Very picky he is .

B1tches with pups do this and natural . In your case Mike I have a feeling it's diet related or not digesting everything as some have stated earlier .

My blue tick used to eat only other dogs frozen poopsicles never his own...and he used to like to invade the kitty litter box now and again. He has grown out of it tho. Could be the better diet he is on now. Just glad we don't have a turd burglar anymore!

Can't remember the name of it for the life of me but there is a product that sells at pet valu that deters them from doing that. I think it's starts with a d and it won't break the bank either.

Franks Hot Sauce

I had a litter of 10 pit bull puppies 12 years ago and eye were chewing up the baseboards something fierce. Used tobassco and that stopped 9 of them but one of them grew very fond of it and actually did more damage than the 9 combined. Crazy dog, God rest his soul, had to put him to sleep in October due to cancer

I have a Malamute he does the same thing fresh out of the oven.... I heard if you gave them a lot of trouble when they did it in the house as a puppy they do it to get rid of the evidence. I tried hot sauce and cayenne powder he didn't even flinch..

feed your dog Fromm. high quality, natural ingredients. And you can switch up flavors with no blending.
My Springer loves it. Your dog has lots of energy and Fromm is high in protein.

Garlic is toxic to dogs.
