Global warming is not a joke. It's a free country, you can choose to believe whoever. You can choose to believe the politicians with their "Fake News" and their political agenda's, or you can choose to believe the scientists who are putting their careers and their professional reputations at stake. I know who I would rather believe.

I'll take the educated guess of a scientist over the uneducated BS of a fool any day.

P.S. Science is not "educated guessing"

Very Sad - shame to loose a great animal

Well Global Warming or not remember those cold winter we had in 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 yes the 1's that were hard on the alewives which made Salmon a little hard to catch.

Well it didn't seem to kill the ticks and I remembers a few days and nights with high -30 and low -40 temps for extended periods.

The ticks just went ahead and buried themselves in leave litter.

What's everyone's thoughts on a way to control ticks?

i don't know who your calling a fool or uneducated but yes science is educated guessing or "hypothesizing" which means guessing for those less than educated if you'd like to discuss why i don't believe in "global warming" id be glad to indulge
i guess you've got a base line of data going back 10000 years or are you just taking the word of someone who took an ice sample and thinks they can extrapolate data that far back with absolute certainty perhaps you've forgotten that an icelandic volcano erupted a few years ago about a year before this "global warming " fad and was said to disrupt earths weather patterns for years to come or hey how about continental drift maybe my educated guesses can go on but clearly you all take what you read and don't question it or do any research of your own so hey keep living the dream brother ! who's more foolish the fool or the fool who follows ?

Its not "who your calling" but "who you are calling", and no, science is not educated guessing, and no matter how many times you repeat that, it wont make it so.
Here's the definition for you from the oxford dictionary:

The intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.

On the other hand scientific hypothesizing (which is part of the scientific method but far from being the entire thing) can be described in part as educated guessing.

I do not have any baseline of data, i am not a climate scientist. And yes i do take the word of someone who took an ice sample (many samples actually, some of which go back 800,000 years, not 10,000).

Icelandic volcano eruption? If you mean the one in 2010 then no, i did not forget it, i never bothered to remember. You are confusing disrupted weather patterns with climate, weather is no climate and climate is not weather.

You got me on the continental drift, i cant figure out how a few cm of continental movement per year accounts for the accelerating climate change of the last 20-30 years, so if you could explain it to me i'd appreciate it.

If you are claiming that this global warming "fad" started in 2011, you are sadly mistaken.
Here's the rough timeline from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_cl..._change_science

First calculations of human-induced climate change, 1896
Paleoclimates and sunspots, early 1900s to 1950s
Increasing concern, 1950s - 1960s
Scientists increasingly predict warming, 1970s
Consensus begins to form, 1980-1988
Modern period: 1988 to present

Clearly i dont take what i read and dont question it, i'm questioning what you are writing right now.

really were the grammar police now ?sorry we are
your retort still proves nothing where are your base line numbers coming from where is your definitive proof you can't tell me what the planet was doing 100 years ago as much as what it was doing 10000 years ago just as much as you can't prove that god exists get a grip you were not there next you'll tell me paying a carbon tax will facilitate our grand government in fixing this problem
and thank you for also proving my point science is educated guessing
heres a few more to chew over how about the earth eliptical orbit around the sun ? how about gravitational fluctuations between the earth and sun how about more frequent solar flares/storms ? i can go on ... i digress lest i start to sound like a troll and i'll return to my original statement who decides what the global temp should be who sets the thermostat ? so i guess well sorry we'll have to agree to disagree i accept your position but this is mine... and yes i did see what you did there ...

Panda Bear Killer... had to Laugh out loud. Some get it, and some don't. Some give back to Mother-Earth and some don't. Some care and some won't.

We are on a delicate rock floating through space. And as the only beings on this rock that know that they know, we humans are the supreme custodians of this fragile little piece of rock called earth. So let's try to put a little effort into looking after it.

I am open to new ideas. If I am wrong the please point this out. Please let me know where in the Cosmos does more pollution equate to a higher standard of living. Pollution in every earthly language equates to higher morbidity and mortality rates. And more pollution leads to higher global temperatures, which in turn leads to more global issues.

I am here with an open mind to listen to intelligent opposing views.

firstly its sorry it is pandakiller as in smallmouth bass no worries
2nd i in no way disagree we pollute way too much (me you us not so much ) big mining corps the gov etc yes this planet belongs to the next generation and i plan to at least attempt to hand it over in the same condition i received it but the point i am trying to make here is like religion(being used to justify killing) global warming is being used as an excuse(among other things) for p### poor husbandry i admit i do not and probably will never own a battery operated car i think they pollute way more than any well maintained and sensibly drive petroleum burning vehicle( remember its coal fired power generation that recharges those clean vehicles )i do however make every reasonable attempt at car pooling not driving like a moron 130+kph etc i keep my a/c off until absolutely necessary i don't fertilize my lawn I've volunteered to rehab trout streams by educating farmers and planting trees etc etc but i we are in no way as responsible as said mining operations etc for the amount of destruction our "rock" faces i also understand that not doing anything about it makes me a## guilty as the offender but i feel I'm wise enough to know ill either come off as winer or anything i do say will fall on deaf ears i just can not get behind a theory about climate change i know the planet has gone through many similar events thoughout time with no effect that the residents of the planet weren't able to adapt to and to further that i became very wary of this theory when our grand government introduced a "carbon tax " to help alleviate said changes (let me get this right i pay you money to fix a theorized problem you have created with no proof that said problem is real or perceived and no proof it will actually work ) the way the universe works is there is only so much carbon to go around it cannot be created or destroyed it simply takes one form or another so how is that a problem? mercury, lead, fertilizers yes i see the proof but even radiation is metabolized by some bacterias so is it a real problem in the long run ?i did not study nuclear physics i can t say for certain i did and still do dabble in marine sciences i see the affects climate change has on corals but i also know they don't adapt to change well or quickly but they do eventually, nature and humans can and will adapt or as darwin stated the weak perish just as that poor moose as the original post was about its happened a million times before and i highly doubt climate change was solely to blame but what i will go out on a limb to say is it was weak and only the strong survive nature is brutal but thats life a shame none the less but if it wasn't ticks it would've been coyotes or mack trucks ...and thirdly these personal attacks about my intelligence my grammar etc and this passive aggressive belittling all because I've formed my own opinion about something and refuse to change my mind without once hearing a compelling argument is down right sickening can't win with brains so resort to name calling right ? Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it. I hate to use this platitude but I think we will just have to agree "to disagree" with each other. Lastly, some parting words.... I still think that pollution will have a lasting and negative effect on our little rock in space. And we as hunters and fishermen should be at the forefront of the movement to curb pollution (and global warming). Thanks for your views Pandakiller This is what democracy is all about! TC
