My friend that organized the hunt for me owns a butcher shop so I gave him all the meat. He made biltong (what we call jerky) and sausage with it. I ate some of the jerky from each animal and it was quite tasty; a great snack with a beer!

There was a south African outfitter at the sportsman show that had a 4 plains animal 7 day hunt for 5800cdn. That included everything but the plane ticket and rifle which you could rent for 25 dollars a day with 20 shells. Compared to what I thought African safaris cost I found that to be quite reasonable. Depending on time of year return flights can be had for around 900...still cheaper than a nfld moose hunt for those of us without friends and family out there it's not out of reach.
