hi everyone
on the eastern side of hwy 11, south of the town of temagami and opposite olive lake I have seen a large amount of dirt roads that lead to many lakes such a milne lake. would anyone know if these roads are in a crown land area. is there a possibility of my dad and I going into this area and camping and at the same time doing some bird hunting and some fishing. I have previously only ice fished on temagami and therefore do not know this area. we would be looking to go late September. I have topo maps of this region but info from those that know the area is as always appreciated

South of Temagami and east of Hwy #11, around Cassels & Rabbit Lake used to be a decent area to Moose Hunt. It was all crown land back then ('70s) before the logging roads came in.That was yrs ago and has since been opened up with logging roads. There was an area a few miles further east that was a restricted hunting area. Not sure what it was called. Presumably the lumber companies had logging rights on the surrounding crown land. Since that was many yrs ago, I'm not sure what changes have come in.

If you are talking about Rabbit Lake road (where Gramp's is), I bird hunt and fish there often.
There are many off roads to it that hold birds. Keep in mind that if you go south (right) from the main road, eventually you will find yourself in the Nipissing Crown game Preserve where you cannot camp overnight, have a motorized vehicle or motor. I believe you cannot hunt in there either but not sure about that because I know there are established moose camps but maybe they are grandfathered.
Stay north of RLR and there are literally 100's of km of bird hunting. Good walleye fishing in FourBass lake, Cooper lake, Glasford, Ross...etc
There's a cement pad at KM 26 that is very popular for camping...right at Glasford lake. Good staging area for going in all directions. A very popular hiking trail-Grand Campment Bay is at the end of RLR.
