Could be wrong but I've never seen any steel loads for a .410 As far as places to hunt most dove hunting is done near field edges after the corn or beans come off. Hard to find any public land like that. Probably have to spend some time scouting and knocking on doors. Defenetly worth it though.

close but no cigar Woodcock can be hunted with lead. all the usual small game from rabbit, grouse, pheasant and so forth. That is as long as you are not in a National wildlife area where all lead prohibited.

Taste like chicken . Naw just yanking your chain. Taste similar to pigeon however thing about wild game it really has its own taste. Its the reason why I enjoy wild game. Unlike factory farm product where the taste is literally washed out of the meat wild retains its flavour. How many? Well your not eating popcorn. Portion them like quail however if you gat company or a bad shot dove become the accent on the place as a reward for all your hard work use mash and veg for filler

Thanks, learned something new. I looked for .410 in steel quite a while ago and had no luck. Bought some dove specific loads in 20ga a while back, didn't indicate lead or steel on box but when I got them home i discovered they were lead. No biggie I'll use them as target rounds just a heads up if anyone else runs into the same thing. They were Remmington.
