I'm new to duck/goose hunting and would like to join a group and/or find a location to hunt. I would like to join a group to learn about duck hunting.

Need way more info if you are looking for help.
Where you located and what area are you looking too hunt.
What experience do you have hunting and what equipment you got.
Have access to private land

My initial advice is checking out the services of a guide.

Thanks very much for your reply. I have been hunting now for 5 years mainly turkey and moose. I have a Remington 870 but plan on moving to a semi auto. I live in Barrie and really have no idea where to hunt for duck/geese. I would love to join a group and learn but if not I will try on my own.

hard to join a group without a bit of nepotism or something substantial to offer.
Being in the Barrie area would spend sometime heading west towards Luther marsh at this time of year taking note of cut wheat fields and secureing access to farm fields. Also take note of soybean and corn as those fields as harvested will be next in line as duck/goose magnets. As you get closer to hunting time especially if birds are using the fields a quick post offering a field hunt location in exchange for invite and use of equipment will get you more than enough interest to start your own group. You got a number of popular marsh locations that can be found in the hunting regulations with Tiny, Luther, Minesing, Holland marsh probably being the closest to you. Not areas where the uninitiated wants to be on opening day but they do calm down afterwards.
Each have their own rules and do require a lot of preparation to hunt though so get started now.

Looks like you found a spot to hunt on water.
What area have you settled on?

LOL and I sent you the other way.
Hunting geese over water can be difficult at best.
Make sure you have a means of dependable retrieval twice as far as you expect to drop a goose. They can be tough to drop and even harder to kill. Anyone hunting water should have a dog to retrieve or at the very least small boat or canoe. A wounded goose swimming in front of you with no means of retrieval won't bode well.
Good hunting
