Got out for grouse on Sunday seen 2 birds and shot 1 we still have snow on the ground both birds were on the ground and running fast they did not want anything to do with me.The one i shot took off and a got a clean shot off and knocked him down about 50 feet from me.

I am going to get out this weekend, now that the deer hunters have left the area. Miss the hunt. I am also looking to get a Henry lever action 410. What do you think.

Never saw one in a 410 ga Bob but that sounds like a a great bird & rabbit gun👍

They have them right up to 12 ga. And it think it would be fun, however I will hunt bunnies only with a .22. Unless I am bird hunting and come across a suicide bunny.

I have a Iver & Johnsen 28 guage which was handed down from my Grandfather. Awesome gun for birds.

Love my 28 as well. The perfect small game gun in my opinion. Even for the few times I pheasant hunt.

Bought a 22 for rabbits, imho its a way better option for rabbits, but a shotgun, even a 12 gauge will work fine. Aim top of ears and let the shell expand into there head if using a 12, wont ruin any meat. Although if you mess your shot up, there wont be much left. 20, 28, or 410 would also be great rabbit guns, I just like the accuracy and range of the 22.

I agree that is why in 1968 I purchased a Savage model 64 22/410. I still have and use it. I cannot even guess how many rabbits and grouse that gun has gotten.

Great uncle has a 410/22 o/u, no clue its make, but I told him not to sell it to anyone other then me lol, great gun for both grouse and rabbits for sure

I always end up going back to my first shot gun that I got for my 16th birthday (12 GA single shot with a full choke). I just feels right and I don't miss many with it. The 22/410 is a great all around gun but hard to find so, as they are normally passed on to family members.
Its getting harder !
