Turkeys, Lack of

Has anyone noticed the lack of turkeys between Bradford & Barrie. I travel a lot on Hwy. 11 & have not seen a deer or turkey in about a year. I have seen 5 or 6 coyotes & lots of geese but not much else.

I saw a coyote on the way up to the m&g in that same area, also drive from Burlington to Milton everyday and see both, but there sure seems to be a lot of coyotes around lately.

I was up there last weekend and lost count of the Deer I had seen in a couple Corn Fields?

Had to be at least fifty.

Seen a few Birds too, not many but a few.

That's good to hear. I was worried that the coyotes had got them all.

Still some pockets that hold some good numbers of turkey and deer.

Won't be long until developers smash it down and there good for road kill .

Also with 400 under Consruction for lane widening you know what's coming next.

Townships are still holding off on hundreds residential building permits , won't be long until they start up again .$$$$$$$$

And then,

Another By - law will state no discharge of any firerm in these zones.

Keeps going $$$$$$$$$

I'm debating if I should take some time off this spring to do some turkey hunting in the Elmvale area. You've got me thinking. I hope the turkey population had a good winter. Anyone's input and thoughts, as always, are much appreciated.

See them all the time.... but as soon as the season opens....... they are gone until season closes.
