Wife and kids were down in Rochester for a while so I finally had some free time. Been sighting in the bow in the backyard but my max distance is 30 yds before I run out of room. This is my 20 yard group from Monday. Notice I don’t aim at 1 target after doing a Robin Hood when I first got it.

I got off work early because of the rain today so I took the pup to the river for a quick fish. You want a challenge, take a 1 yr old lab river fishing! After that I took the bow to a county forest down the road to try my hand at longer distance. At 40 I was doing very well. Went out to 50 and this was my 3rd group at that distance. A few clicks Right and and an adjustment on the speed ring...I quit while I was ahead. FYI I got this target in cabelas bargain cave for under $40 regular $99. Had a few shots into it and someone returned it. It takes broadheads too. It’s a lot lighter to haul into the bush than the yellow one.

I’ve now shot all my bolts or arrows, whichever you prefer and numbered them all and marked each vane as well so I know which One to use as the c### vane for consistency. Some have very little difference but my number 2 arrow had about 2” different POI with two of the vanes being used as the c### vane. Still learning with this thing but it’s very fun and rewarding to use.

Nice shooting! Don’t get them too close as I destroyed many arrows when they hit one another. A few right in the butt end. First time I was amazed... second and third time I started getting upset that $40 down the drain.

Thanks. Normally I don’t just go for one bullseye. I used the opposite side when I was at 40. It has 3 targets. I figured at 50 I’d spread out a bit more so used the single. Even my first two groups that were high and left were only 2-3” apart.

That’s great shooting. What are you using?
It’s an Excalibur grizzly. It’s an entry level bow. Got a great deal on it and some accessories at my local store that was closing. I’m firing 250 gr 18” diablos with 150 gr field points. I’d probably get more speed with 100 gr but was advised to use a heavier broad head when hunting so went with 150. I’m standing and using cabelas v2 shooting stick. I only got it this spring and never had any free time to get out for Turkey. I’m hoping to get out this fall. It’s just with the job, and my wife has started a new business and two kids that seem to always have some sporting event time is few and far between. Even last ice season I didn’t get out near as much due to my sons hockey schedule. That’s why I was so amped to get a free day to fish and do some target practice yesterday.

Got some range time in today at Wolfs Den. Great range. I took my son so he could use his bow as well. I finally got to stretch out to 65yds today. Not bad with the rain and the bugs.
