May 4th north Haliburton near my cottage. Probably my only text book turkey hunt. Start to finish maybe 15-20 minutes and shot was maybe 15 feet. Turkeys are still ahead on me 9-3 including a few assists by deer. Victoria Day I put a 200 yard sneak on a tom that wouldnt budge. Crawled the last bit to 30 yards but just as I setting up to shoot a deer sounds the distress signal at least 10X and the turkey wanders off out of range head no longer blue and white. I did have a 40 yard shot lined up but like to be closer and shot wasnt totally clear.

Well I got nada! Congratulations to the ones that did. I’m sure for some of you it’s like nothing and to some it’s huge accomplishment. For my 1st turkey season I learned a lot, and I mean a lot out in the bush and from some of the fine people on this site. Just like the way I started off fishing as a little kid, just can’t give up keep going and something will cross my path sooner or later. Looking forward to the fall already turkey and deer!
