I have Friday off, the last day of the season, but my youngest boy is most likely going to be home and will most likely want to go fishing. So I might not get the opportunity to get out for my last day. Maybe I can try an afternoon hunt. Was out on Sunday AM and only a hen to be seen, but were the bugs bad.
Hope those who still have a tag gets to fill them.

This year in our area, most of our birds have been harvested in the afternoon -- that 3 - 4 pm sweet spot. Up until now they've been "henned up" and hard to break away. On Monday "the boys" (Jakes) seems to be on the prowl. By Friday there may be even more roaming bachelors.

on sunday I thought I was in for a tom fore sure. About 830 a hen came out to my full body hen decoy. She walked up to it talking to it then clucking. Saw me, but didn't know what i was so came for a look clucking and purring. Got about 10ft from me turned and went back to the decoy. She spent about 1/2 hour in front of me. I figured with all the real clucking every tom in the bush was going to come running, but nothing.
