season ends as it started

Been along time since I've gone wire to wire. This season dragged as luck was not on my side. Lots of close calls but the hunting gods favored the birds. Morning started with 2 hens leaving the bush with 3 Jakes in tow. Threw some calls but it was quickly evident that I could neither seduce the Jakes or provoke the hens as they meandered around the field. Knew if I was going to eat turkey it would mean trying to get infront of them. Bit of cat and mouse got me to a position to take one of the Jakes. When I collected the bird a smile arose as the Jake was one bird I had seen earlier in the season as it had a unique tail. Guess there is such a thing as a trophy Jake

way to go, my season started my first time out with a bird, but you ended yours much better. i second guessed myself and paid for it by not getting the Tom that came to the other spot. All I could do is watch it out in the field where I was going to go, but decided to try a spot in the bush. Next year

Most of my outing this year was that scenario.
Don't like to pressure the birds during the season as if it goes wrong end up pushing them off the property I can access.
Last day all bets are off.
Now all I got to do is remember to fill out the mandatory reports

Congrats on your last day bird....jakes are great eating and every turkey is a trophy. Good on you for sticking it out,you certainly got your money’s worth out of your license!!!!
