Adult Trout Group: Members Posts: 272 Member No.: 2752 Joined: January 09, 2013	Tagged out last Friday. This year I decided to go with my .270 and I brought my cousin from Philadelphia, who never saw a black bear in his life and just starting hunting. Black flies were not bad. We waited 2hours and I took this little guy while my cousin was videoing it. 202lbs dressed. My hunting buddy was in an other stand and had the visit of a sow and 2 cubs.

I told him that I took multiple game with it from deer, elk, moose and bear and never had an issue. Its all about shot placement. Well now he is a believer! lol I mostly shoot my animals in the neck so they don't run,lights are out quickly and not much meat waist. he is showing his friend back home the video and they all want to come for a bear hunt now. SBBS Bait is awesome and Brent Colijn know his stuff.

Hey Steph ; Agree 100% on the .270 , many years ago I bought my first .270 , bought caliber as I could shoot it south of hwy 9 , operated a game bird farm at the time and it made a logical choice.. now I shoot a ruger m77 in .270..

Over the years this caliber has dropped 7 moose ,countless deer and a variety of chucks, coyotes and bears ..

Agree 100 % , shot placement is critical with this caliber as with any other ..

Good hunting ..
