I had a cataract removed & a lens installed yesterday. Has anyone had any experience cocking a crossbow after this type of surgery I am not supposed to lift more than 10lbs. for a month. I see the doctor in a week & I am afraid he will say no bow.

Hi yt - I had double lens repl last Sept and was told the same thing. I did as asked and had no problems with the repl. The restriction is to keep your blood pressure down - even for brief moments. The increase when you lift something - OR strain like in drawing/cranking a bow - can boost pressure quite a bit. I didn't draw a bow during that time so I can't say what may happen, but I wouldn't risk any F-U of this important surgery. Get someone to help you if you really need to draw that bow !!
I now only need glasses for reading small print like book or papers - huge improvement. AND I found that when one eye was done and the other not yet, pages of a book looked 'whiter' in the 'new' eye!

Thanks Fe. That makes a lot of sense. I am going to do exactly what the Doctor says. The best deer hunting is in Nov.& Dec. anyways Cheers
