It was thanksgiving Monday 2003 when I shot my first moose. In my opinion it was a dandy bull.
I was out in the garage doing some fall cleanup and came across it.
Good luck and straight shooting to all the guys and gals on their hunt.
Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving
Kerry

That is a dandy bull, I remember taking my first, looks about the same size in 1984 October 24. There are pics which of course I cant find but I remember that of the 4 or 5 people in the pic only me and my dad are still here and he is now 87 yrs young. Keep that pic forever.

I meant to say the smile says it all.

I think it took a week to get that smile off my face.

The guy on my right is my best friend ( my dad) He was the one that made the loads up for that 30o savage.
We’ve lost a few guys from our gang including the guy (Norm) on my left.
That day was one of the most exciting days of my life. I called that bad boy in and it took 3 hrs to get him in shooting range.
I will never forget it.
I’m sure some of you boys have similar experiences that you hold in your heart

Cheers

Great picture with great memories. Unfortunately for me, I lost my first moose to a pack of wolves in northern Alberta. By the time my friends and I gathered out gear and made it back to the moose the wolves were at it. So...no picture but the memory and the story still lives on.

I lost a doe on similar circumstances. The coyotes got to her before me. I feel your pain but undoubtedly the memory lives on.
Cheers
