Fished Scugog for the first time yesterday without much luck. We started drop shotting the deep holes and then moved into the back bays. Only caught a few little ones but weren't able to get anything in the boat consistently.
The water was very murky, a greenish mud colour. It rained hard the day before but I didn't think it would be THAT dirty.
Is it always this murky? Any tips for fishing here?

I've stopped fishing The Bog for that reason. It's been like that for a couple of years at least. I don't believe it's because of rainfall. I think it's more of an excessive algae bloom.

I agree. i also think its the algae.
I did Ok there in July on top waters (nothing over 3lb) but bog is tough in August as it's choked with weeds.

I was on scugog late last week. The water clarity was dirty for sure. The fishing was excellent. I found largemouth holding in the thickest cover possible and they were very shallow as well. This is one of many I caught over a 3 hour period.
