Controlled hunt, so looking forward to it

I got drawn for the controlled hunt this year, been 4 years I have been told. I have gotten at least one picture of deer in legal time for the last week, most are bucks. looks like I'm going to have to spend all day though, as the deer have been from 730ish to 5pm.

Hopefully you connect. Tough to pinpoint them down when they are chasing does

Hey sabmgb, have you tried rattling this time of year. It can be exciting and productive ?

chevy, i have never tried rattling or any other calling for deer. I have thought about it, but never seem to have any sheds around. I would even know how to do it, but suppose youtube in your friend. I have heard rattle bags, any idea where you get these and do they work.

I bought a set of synthetic antlers. They work great in conjunction with a grunt tube. I’ve harvested 3 bucks and one curious doe.
I highly recommend this technique.

I agree. Make some noise.
Deer are very social creatures -- especially when it comes to mating season. They will investigate the noise. You're more likely to bring them in when you're calling them in.
Youtube has infinite deer calls and rattling videos, and how/when to use each.

only hunt with camera , bucks are like shark,start at downwind and work upwind smelling for or following does. observed this many times . the second cycle for does will be starting soon , buck activity will pick up soon,good luck.

I'm so pumped for this hunt, I'm already not sleeping well. I enjoy walking and sitting in the bush with a gun. Don't get me wrong I enjoy bow hunting but there something about carrying a gun that excites me. I hope it takes me a few days. We got snow yesterday only enough to cover the ground. It should I hope still be on the ground by tomorrow,
