Hey everyone hope all is well!

I was looking into saddle hunting and was wondering how many of you prefer that over a ground blind or a ladder stand etc etc.

Previous owner has a few trees with some rope and previous buckles ready togo. I probably wouldn’t use those as they seem a bit old. Been thinking about buying a couple ladder stands but started looking into some tree climbers and saddles. Is it hard on the lower back? Is it a long learning curve?

Anyone have a good brand they use for a saddle kit?

Any info Is appreciated

I personally would not like to sit in a saddle stand for any amount of time. I imagine feeling confined up there. Think of losing all feelings in your legs as they are dangling!!Not for me.

I have used a climbing tree stand and love them. You have to have the right kind of trees where you hunt. My 91 acres has numerous large poplars with no branches until the top 1/3 of the tree...way above as high as I would ever go.

A very close friend of mine owns True North Treestands. I would highly recommend his beginner starter at 29 pounds. I've got 2 of them.

Hey I have a tree climber. I like it but this season I’d like to be carrying out no bulk. Thanks for your info.

May actually grab 1 or 2 of your friends ladder stands. How are they? Good material?

They are top notch. I don't own one but he tests them out in the field before releasing them to the public. He's 6'-4" and about 230#. He's a big bow hunter in the Ottawa area.

But if you don't want to carry anything out, how is that possible with a ladder stand?

I’m gonna leave them out there. I ordered a couple. They seem like good stands and a good price. Gave them a go, thanks

I just chain my climbers to a tree with a long bike lock.

Good luck with your ladder stands.

You’ve got the right idea with ladder stands. I did the sticks and climbing deal for a bit and it’s a young man’s game. Your average guy with dad bod can do it, but it’s time consuming and there is a learning curve for set up. I just put up ladder stands now. I carry in my bow and my waist bag now and that’s it!
