Goose hunting, Day 1

Well we have seen more birds in the past but this was an amazing day. Sam my gun shy lab is no more. At almost 3 she is now a true retriever. She got runner out as far as 200yd. We ended the day with 7 geese she retrieved 4 of them all runners.. my picture is to big to post so will have to wait till my trip is over.

Day 2. About same number of birds flying. Different field today. We got 9 birds. Sam started off where she left off yesterday but a goose must have bit her as she switched to just running them down and holding them with her paw. Still she is doing great for her 2nd day of hunting.

Great looking day, birds were flying, guys shooting straight and dog was working.
Doesn't get any better than that !

Day 3. Only 6 today but was a good hunt. This is the end of my trip for goose hunting. My do some dover later today or tomorrow. Going to golf tomorrow and head home on Monday will add pictures of each days hunt on Monday.. we even saw a small bear cub one evening while scouting. Never realized how small they are. Couldn't have been bigger then a raccoon

Sounds like an awesome time, I really need to try this bird hunting one day. I would love todo some duck hunting.

Friday Day 2. Think Sam was over worked, she retrieved the first 2, then just ran out to the birds and put a paw on them. She almost looks like she is sleeping in the picture

last day. Sam only ran to the birds and put her paw on them. But she still made sure they couldn't run anywhere. All in all it was an amazing hunt, just watching Sam to her thing.
