I love squirrel hunting. Using my .22 with all the leaves on the trees still is super challenging. You have to be ready to stalk them very quietly. I took the beauty Grey and decided to do a pelt.
Now for the harvest I marinade mine for a couple of days in the fridge. Then I pressure cook them for 35 mins. Pic the meat and make a stew. Personally they taste much like Rabbit to me but even better.

I also made a stew with them last fall, I got the recipe off the net, Guiness stew I replaced the beef with 3 squirrels. That is a beaty of a grey. I also like to put a coating of flour with seasoning then fry them in butter

Anyone ever try intown squirrels? They are out of control at my place in Keswick.
Can’t legally shoot squirrels in any towns as far as I know. Also I have never seen them “out of control”. There are lots around my house in Bolton but lots of squirrels doesn’t cause any harm.

here they wreak havoc on gardens, have a few neighbours that feed them, and the rest try to have gardens, so it almost a battle as to who wins. the people feeding them I hope don't find out the hard way that they can cause all kinds of damage to house or vehicle. Sam (my dog) pretty much keeps my garden safe; she enjoys chasing them out of the yard .
I wish I could shoot them in the city, would do 2 things get rid of the pests and give me supper, but it is illegal to discharge any gun in the city and be dangerous.
