Went out Thursday evening for a hunt and was able to harvest my 1st doe. Around 550pm had a fawn approach and walk into my lane. According to my trail camera pictures this fawn should be with 2 other full grown does. As it’s standing there perfect broadside shot I hear the other 2 coming from 2 other directions. They come in looking at me and scanning all Around. As one comes into my lane the other still a bit cautious, both same large does so didn’t matter which one came into lane 1st. Fawn was somewhat behind the doe so I couldn’t take the shot. As I wait, the fawn moves off out of the way. The doe was about 15-16yards away perfectly broadside from my ladder stand and I’m up at 21ft, so I knew the shot had to be somewhat high to get through both lungs. They ended up closer then expected. Nice and steady I aim, Entry high and exit on low right lung. Arrow blows right through both her lungs, she kicks, runs off and Makes it about 60yards and crashes. While waiting on stand of coarse coyotes are howling at all different directions so I’m getting anxious but still waited bout 30min. Quietly I walk up to arrow and see nice lung blood colour on it. I Scan around and see my 1st big splatter. Decided to go back to base and grab my atv. Back to the 1st splatter i had a really awesome blood trail every hunter wishes for. Wow the work involved after words!!!! Pulled her out, got her back. Dressed her asap, hung, skinned, quarterd her up and into my commercial fridge. Hit the sac at 530am. She’s steady at 0-1deg for 7-10days.
