Bear hunting, Baiting

My son and I started baiting bears early and had some small ones come but just recently we have had some bigger bears show up. We have only hunted twice so far with my son getting circled and busted and I didn’t get in early enough last night and ended up putting the bear off the bait on the way in

I got a bear last night just before the rain hit but it was a wet ride on the wheeler getting home. It was a small sow and I was able to load it on the wheeler myself.

My son got the bigger bear at the same bait last night where I shot mine Sunday night.
He shot at 8:30 pm and we tracked the bear and came upon it at 12:00. It was huge…. We figured 300 pounds or better . We couldn’t get a wheeler in because of rock faces and also had a hard time finding the wheeler back. We turned the lights on for a beacon and dragged it a few feet at a time. We got back to the cottage at 3:00 am and had it cleaned , hung and skinned by 5:00 am.
We grabbed some sleep and started butchering at 10:00. By 3:00 pm we had it done and everything cleaned up. An absolutely huge spring bear and his first.
