Well was a really wet hunt and muddy. We got to field real early and set up pretty much dry. Just a legal light approached it started to rely rain. Geese were slow to start because it stayed dark. When they came they really came. Maybe a 1000 birds tried to come i I the 1 hour we stayed. Some really poor shooting on our part but I blame the gun. I haven't use it in more than 10 years. We ended with 11 geese Sam just gets better every year. I had her on leash stacked tostart with. Once I let her go she never came back. She just kept bring back birds a d putting them behind blinds than off to get another. Got 2 that had to be 200yds out and running. Ran them down and tackled them and brought back. When flow coming and she was in decoys with one I'd tell her down and she would lay down and wait. Such a great dog saved a lot of work to bad we couldn't shoot as good as she can retrieve

Congratulation on a great hunt. I passed on going out this morning as it was just a major down pour here where I live. The field I have permission for is a tilled wheat field and it would have been just a mud bath trying to set up in it this morning. Heading out tomorrow morning as the weather looks a lot better!!!

very nice i am not a hunter but i bet it would be great to see a good dog do its thing ,im not opposed to less goose poop on local beaches and docks thanks for doing your part good luck on future hunts

Way to go on a great day and nice report. It sounds awesome how well Sam can work for you, amazing that dogs can know a their role so well. I’ve always been of the belief that it’s a poor tradesman that blames his tools. If the gun is no good you shouldn’t have it, so your fault for keeping it, and if it’s a good gun but you haven’t used in in ten years is the reason, then it’s your fault for not practicing with it more. Either way youre the problem, not the gun. Same as it’s not the guns that kill people, it’s the operators right. We can all have a few bad shots now and then that’s ok too.
