Well I finally made it out this morning sat down at 520 to wait for 550am legal time. Started hearing gobbling back in bush just after I got there. Good sign. About 540 gobble just behind me and to left sounds like it walking towards me really close, but still 10minutes before legal so gun in its sock. Sound keeps getting closer and really loud. Finally it 550 legal so really quietly I take sock off with as little movement as I can as I figure Tom is almost beside me now. 555 I realize it is in tree roosting about 40yds away and there are 2 gobblers that why I thought one was moving. 1st one flies down about 50yds down and about 50yds out in field and starts to strut my way. Thought this going to be a quick hunt than 2 hens fly down and another Tom. The 2 Tom's are putting on a show for the girls who start to go other way a little. Of course both Tom's stick with the hens for an hour about 100yds out and another hen joins them. Now it 7am and all are moving further down the bush in the field. At 8 I get up to see if they are still out there and the 2 Tom's are still in field about 400yds down so I sit to a bit after 9 and get up and have another look, now 1 Tom and it has to be 800yds away so I pack up and leave to hunt another day.
Good but sad day
